The end of January saw the completion of a Gardner 6LXB engine, fully overhauled with a new cooling system installed.
It is destined for a new build, single screw vessel for round the world cruising. As such, the discerning client requested an original cooling system, which we gladly built and installed, including a bronze impeller Gilkes raw water pump, new tubular heat exchanger, and all cupronickel hard pipework.
The engine is coupled to a new ZF marine transmission, 3:1 ratio and has a standard marine rating of 127bhp@1500RPM.
It will have a long 34 day sea journey before a short 10 mile road transport to the shipyard in China.
Gardner – still exporting to every corner of the world.
